Had We Been Hacked?

While conducting E-mail virus tracking/research David uncovered improper files on the Network Server's drives. During further research discovered hundreds of improper files (some adult content in nature) on the servers, masked to appear like business documents. These files appear to have gone undetected for over six months.

On time, On budget and Within Scope - Project Management for Security Professionals.

It has been my experience that 'Best Practices' of  Project Management are either unknown or not supported in most 'shops' which causes Security to also look 'less then sterling' when the IT project(s) run into problems.  A very large and unfair blame gets thrown onto Security as the cause and/or reason why it needs to be 'taken care of later' which causes issues downstream.  With Project Management techniques this blame is avoided thereby ‘raising the bar’ as to the real cause of the problems which are documented.
